The VisIR system in Chipper ROS mode measures the rate of spread (kg/m²) of pre-coated chippings on Hot Rolled Asphalt (HRA). Sensors T1–T70 across the road width capture chip distribution, not temperature. Quality is assessed by consistency — a low Coefficient of Variation (CV) means even chip spread across the surface.

Overall = (Temperature × 0.40) + (Climate × 0.20) + (VisIR × 0.20) + (Production × 0.20)
Measures the percentage of loads with temperature readings that fall within the specification band of 130–190°C.
Formula: Score = (loads_in_spec / loads_with_temp) × 100
Only loads with valid temperature readings are included. Higher scores indicate better temperature compliance during delivery.
Assesses the proportion of working days with favourable weather conditions for asphalt laying.
Formula: Score = (good_weather_days / total_weather_days) × 100
Good weather excludes days with frost (ambient ≤0°C), heavy rain (>4mm/hr), or high wind (>40km/h). Moderate rain days are included as acceptable.
Evaluates thermal uniformity of laid material using VisIR infrared scanning data.
Formula: Score = weighted_avg(good×100, ok×50, poor×0)
Categories: Good = variation <10°C, OK = 10–20°C, Poor = >20°C. Lower thermal variation indicates better compaction outcomes.
Measures production efficiency: average load size, number of active trucks, and GPS site coverage.
Formula: Score = min(100, (avg_load / 20) × 50 + (sites_with_gps / total_sites) × 50)
Targets ≥20t average load and GPS tracking on all sites. Rewards operational efficiency and data completeness.
